Karwar: Hundreds of companies would take part in the employment mela held at November 12 and 13 in Karwar, informed Deputy Commissioner SS Nakul.
In a preparatory meeting here on Wednesday, DC discussed about organisation participating in the mega employment mela in the district on Wednesday. "More than 10,000 employment aspirants were expected to participate from the district as well as from the neighbouring districts. BPO, hospitality, tourism and service sector companied would be invited more in number. The district has polytechnic, ITI and engineering colleges.Reputed companies from Bengaluru, Goa, Pune, Mumbai and other places should be invited to take part in the employment fair. The students from these colleges would be benefited in the employment fair," he said.
A web portal would be launched for the purpose. The companies’ and aspirants should register their names and details in the portal. This would help the candidates to know about the status of their applications, interviews, and further stages of selection
The companies would and candidates would interact in the employment fair and the further processing could be done through the web portal, he said.
Opportunities would be provided to the candidates with minimum education as well as higher education, he added.
Additional Deputy Commissioner H Prasanna, Employment Mela Nodal Officer Sadashiva Prabhu, Additional SP Devraj and others were present.
