Puttur: Puttur police have recently arrested a gang of 4 members who tried to sell a two-headed snake for lakhs of rupees.
According to Assistant Superintendent of Police Rishwant, the gang was plying in the rented car in southern Kanara region i.e. Chikmangaluru and Shimoga and were trying to sell the two-headed snake to the people by claiming that it will bring fortune to them overnight but were were unable to find a buyer who would pay them lakhs of rupees.
When they reached Puttur, based on a tip-off, the police arrested them and seized the reptile and the car.
The accused were identified as Shashidhar, Gagan, Saleem and Ratan Gowda.
They were booked under Wild Life Protection Act and remanded to judicial custody.
