Karwar: Karunadu Rakshana Vedike District unit President N Datta has appealed the deputy commissioner to review and conduct a probe into the illegal blooming of multistoreyed buildings in City Municipal Council (CMC) limits.

Speaking at a press meet in Karwar on Thursday, Mr Datta alleged that more than 35 multi-storeyed buildings constructed after 2012 have not  to the approved blueprint. Even the CMC commissioner is lending a deaf ear towards this issue.

Datta alleged that at many places, buildings have been constructed by encroaching the main canals. Many buildings do not have proper parking facility. Even after completion of the building construction, many owners have not obtained CR. In this way, they are cheating on the City Municipal Corporation.

"Some owners of multistoreyed buildings release the waste produced in the buildings directly to the drainage. Due to this practice, the drainages are stinking and turned into places of mosquito breeding. Many buildings have narrow approach roads that even the fire & emergency vehicle cannot reach the buildings in case of accidents", he complained.

Nagendra Anchekar, Sunil Naik, Gurudas Naik, Mangesh Naik, Anand Madiwal, Sujeet Valsekar and others were present.
