Beltangady: It is reported that a 31-year-old man has been attacked by Bajrang Dal activists at Dharmasthala here on August 2.

The injured has been identified as Chandrakanth (31), a resident of Manjithil, Dharmasthala.

According to Chandrakanth, local Bajrang Dal leader Bhasker along with his accomplices attacked him when he was playing Volleyball on the ground. Chandrakanth was assaulted with iron rods, knife and wooden clubs. The assailants even snatched the victim's gold chain and gold ring. Chandrakanth being severely injured has been admitted to the Government hospital in Belthangady.

It is alleged that the attack was due to the personal enmity between Chandrakanth and the assailant.
