Mangaluru: A youth attempted to commit suicide after an organisation posted derogatory and lewd posts about him and his family on Facebook.

According to the police, the youngster is Nizam (24) of Gujjarakere. Nijam said, "Derogatory and lewd messages against my family and myself were uploaded from the Facebook account of Badr Dala. One of my relatives from the Gulf informed me of such messages on Facebook. With the help of my friend, when I checked the Facebook account, I noticed the lewd messages from one Jabbar Mangaluru. The messages and photos have been shared by 48 persons." He also complained that when he objected to the objectionable messages on Facebook, they threatened him.

The Facebook post was uploaded in the name of Badr Dala of Bengre unit, an organisation which came into existence in retaliation for Bajrang Dal a few years ago. The youth is recovering in the hospital and has filed a complaint in the Mangaluru South police station.

In the complaint, Nizam's brother Rafeeq has appealed to the police to take strict against the culprits.
