Public grievance meeting at Karwar

Karwar: District In-charge minister RV Deshpande has instructed the officials to solve the various grievances of the people within the period permitted by the law of the land at a public grievance meeting held at District Ranga Mandir in Karwar on Tuesday.

He asked the officials to visit the rural areas to hear the grievances of the people nd asked them to treat the people visiting their offices with courtesy and solve their problems after giving a patient hearing. He further added that the meeting was an attempt to directly hear the problems from the people, and such meetings would be held at taluk-level henceforth.

Most problems for which applications were submitted pertained to clearance of encroachments, development of  roads, creation of jobs,  prevention of dengue fever from spreading, lack of teachers in schools, demand for basic facilities, and prevention of thefts.

 As many as 247 applications were received at the meeting.142 were received at the counter opened at Deputy Commissioner’s office and 105 applications were submitted by the people at the meeting personally..

A resident of Nandanagadda village, submitted an application, asking help for her sick 40-year-old daughter under Mansivini scheme. The minister asked Tahsildar GN Naik to visit her house and provide the facility within a week.
