Karwar: "Poverty and illiteracy are a curse on humanity. Education is the only way to eradicate that curse. Everyone should get proper education and should avail the benefits of government scheme," said district in charge R V Deshpande.

Speaking after inaugurating the post-metric boys’ hostel building constructed by District Backward Classes Welfare Department at Kharsawad in Karwar on Monday, he said that students should have a high aim in life and should work with dedication to achieve the aim.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Satish Sail said, the State Government is implementing several schemes and programmes for the development of the State. He also praised the works taken up by Minister RV Deshpande in the district.

ZP President Jayashree Mogere, ZP Vice-President Santosh Renake, Deputy Commissioner SS Nakul and others were present.
