Mangaluru: In order to give an opportunity to budding talent from Coastal parts of Karnataka, the Karnataka Regional Cricket Academy (KRCA) in association with the Mangaluru Occasional Institution (MOI), is organsing the Mangaluru Premier League (MPL) cricket tournament at the B R Ambedkar stadium in Panambur near Mangalore from December 17 to 31.
As many as 24 players who had played in the MPL last year, have already been included in the bidding list of the Karnataka Premium League (KPL) cricket tournament. Players from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu districts will participate in the MPL tournament.
A total 12 teams will be playing in the tournament. The tournament will be in the knockout basis, and 34 matches will be played. KRCA president Sirajuddin said, “Those who are participating in the Indian Premium League (IPL) will also participate in the tournament. K C Cariappa, who represented Kings XI Punjab, Shivil Koushik of Gujarat Lions, and Kishore Kamath of the Mumbai Indians team will participate in the tournament.
