Kundapur: An electrician was electrocuted while he was working to restore the power supply near Ram Mandir at Kundapur.
The deceased has been identified as Narasimha (22), a resident of Dharampuri in Tamilnadu state.
It is reported that he was electrocuted while he was working on three transformers in Ram Mandir, only one transformer was switched-off while the other two were switched-on.
It is said that the installation of new electric poles is in the process by a team of 10 electric labourers from past 15 days.
According to the sources, the incident took place on 11th August, thursday afternoon when Narasimha had climbed the electric pole. Unfortunately, he was electrocuted while working and fell from the pole on his brother Sharavan, who was standing below the pole. The electric shock started effecting Sharavan too but he was, hopefully, saved. It is said that the deceased succumbed to his injuries whilst on the way to hospital.
He is survived by his wife and one year old son.
As the news spread, the members of municipality such as Sandeep Kodi, Raviraj Kharvi, SI Naseer Hussain, Municipality officer Gopal Krishna Shetty and many others rushed to Kundapur govt hospital and met with the deceased's family.
