Karwar: Heavy and medium Industries & Infrastructure Development Minister R V Deshpande has decided to focus on promoting adventurous water and sports based activities sport near the beach along the coastal belt to attract the tourists. 

Inspecting the tourism works at the meeting held at Deputy Commissioner's office, he instructed the officers to hold programmes to develop tourism. Tagore beach, Om beach of Gokarna and Murdeshwar beach are expected to turn into water and adventure sports destinations. It has also been planned to introduce scuba diving at Netravathi. Along with the Karavali Utsava which is to be held in December and industrialist meet, preparations are going on to hold Scuba diving utsava. He appealed to the public for providing cooperation and support.
