Karwar: Three cases of dengue was reported in Karwar city. The district administration is taking measures to prevent and cure the water-borne disease.
The health officials of CMC and Health department conducted survey of 1533 households and have identified 2680 places.
Three suspected dengue cases were spotted at Kodibeer temple area and it was confirmed after blood sample examination. CMC Commissioner RV Jattanna, Dr Ramesh Rao and the DHO visited the houses in the area on Saturday and inspected the situation.
Of them, larvae production was found in 72 spots and measures were taken to contain stagnation of rain and storm water, said DHO Ashok Kumar. Bleaching powder has been sprinkled in the spots and the stagnated water has been flown into gutters. Directions have been given to people not to allow water to get stagnated.
Deputy Commissioner SS Nakul has asked the people not to panic and medicines have been stocked to treat dengue. Besides, all precautionary measures have been taken to prevent this disease from spreading.
