Bhatkal: Police sources have informed that an unknown body of a man was traced near Matada Hitlu beach here at Murdeshwar.

As per the sources, the body was noticed at the shore by the locals on Thursday evening and have immediately informed police regarding it. Police rushed to the spot and investigated the matter and have filed a case. Body was then shifted to a morgue at Bhatkal government hospital in order to identify the exact details about the deceased.

Demand of a morgue at Murdeshwar

Since Murdeshwar is one of the renowned tourist place, thousands visit this place and go swimming in sea. Unfortunately, in some cases,  people lose their life. In few cases, the deceased cannot be identified even after months. Also, post mortem cannot be carried out unless one of their family member approaches. Even the police face problems as there are no proper facilities of a morgue. In view of this, the public has demanded the government to provide a morgue at Murdeshwar since Bhatkal government hospital has only one morgue which can accomodate only one body. Problem might arise if there are more bodies, they said.
