Bhatkal: The Town Municipal Council has decided to auction the 109 shops under its possession to the public for the period of 12 years. 

According to sources, the shops will be auctioned on August 20. Anyone who wants to rent the shops has been instructed to submit the application along with DD guarantee within 1.30 pm on 19th Aug 2016 and attend the auction held at 11 am on August 20th in the municipal building. The shops are scattered at various locations in the town with varied pricing ranges and fewf of those shops are reserved for SC/ST and the disabled.

The municipality has imposed certain conditions for participation in the auction. The age of the participant should be more than 18 years. The DD should be addressed to the Chief Officer, Municipality, Bhatkal. The participants must submit the application as well as DD along with the Aadhar card, voter id and copy of ration card before 1.30 pm on 19 August. The delayed application will not be accepted. Disabled person should have a disable certificate. Vendor whose rent is still pending will not be given the opportunity to participate in a public auction.
