Bhatkal: Statewide Social and Educational Survey to Begin on September 22

Bhatkal: Tahsildar Nagendr Kolashetty has announced that the Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes will conduct the Statewide Social and Educational Survey 2025 from September 22 to October 7. The survey is aimed at collecting comprehensive data on the social and educational conditions of the people, which will form the basis for the state’s future policy planning.

In a press release, the Tahsildar said that enumerators will visit households to gather responses to nearly 60 questions. To ensure smooth and quick completion of the process, citizens have been advised to keep ready documents such as ration cards, Aadhaar cards or Aadhaar numbers, voter ID cards, and, in the case of persons with disabilities, UID cards or disability certificates.

The statement further emphasized the importance of verifying the mobile numbers linked to each family member’s Aadhaar card. During the e-KYC process, a One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the linked mobile number, and if the concerned member is absent at the time of the survey, other family members may obtain the OTP by contacting them over the phone.

Families without ration cards must provide Aadhaar details for members above six years of age. Those without Aadhaar are required to visit the nearest Aadhaar enrollment center to register and obtain an enrollment number. Similarly, if Aadhaar is not linked with a current mobile number, the linkage must be updated at an enrollment center.

The survey questionnaire will cover a wide range of topics, including educational qualifications, need for skill training, income, details of movable and immovable properties, religion, caste, sub-caste, and traditional occupation. Citizens have been urged to provide accurate and complete information.

To raise awareness about the survey, pre-survey campaigns are being conducted with the involvement of college students. For more details, citizens can call the Commission’s helpline at 8050770004 or visit the official website at https://kscbc.karnataka.gov.in.

The Tahsildar has appealed to the public to actively participate, stressing: “This is our survey, and it is our responsibility to take part with sincerity.”
